Child Care Subsidies

I have been asked this a few times and figured I should posted it for all those that wondered, but haven't asked.

Remember it is your benefit...you and your service member earned this, use it!

Operation: Military Child Care is available to families of active duty, National Guard and Reserve service members who are activated or deployed in support of the war on terror. Eligibility begins when the military parent receives deployment orders and ends 60 days after the parent returns. The program is also available to deployed active duty families without access to military installation child care. This fee assistance program is intended to help support military spouse employment, education, or special medical circumstances. It is also available to spouses looking for employment for a period not to exceed 60 days.

****In order to qualify the members should complete the application using the NAVY since we are working for the USN SOUTHCOM Commander.

Then the following documentation would need to be provided:
-Service Member's military orders (activated/deployed only)
-Leave and Earning Statements (LES) for the Service Member
-Spouse's most recent pay stub (most recent month) or proof spouse if attending school
-Child(ren)'s birth certificate or self certification statement

Once this is submitted NACCRRA will determine if the member qualifies.

U.S. Coast Guard Child Care Subsidy Program
Active-duty members of the Coast Guard are eligible for the Coast Guard Child Care Subsidy Program to assist with child care payments.

Through the program, active-duty Coast Guard members will be able to use any federal child care center, or any state-licensed child care facility inside or outside the continental United States, including child development centers as well as in-home child care providers, and be charged the same rate they would be charged if they were receiving child care at a military-base facility. All Coast Guard active-duty crew members and active duty reservists called to action for 180 days or longer are eligible.
